August 2014 meeting

This month, we are reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, by John Berendt. This book was published in 1994 by an Esquire writer who discovered it was cheaper to take the train from New York to Savannah for the weekend than to eat dinner in a Manhattan restaurant. And there the story begins.  The Contra Costa Library summary says this:
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil: A Savannah Story is a sublime and seductive reading experience.  Brilliantly conceived and masterfully written, this enormously engaging portrait of a most beguiling Southern city is certain to become a modern classic.

Sheila will be leading the discussion about this book.
Fran will bring book selections.
Kim will bring snacks.

And one more thing.  The meeting will be Friday, August 22. 7:00PM. Same place.
See you there!!
